2. Nature of Our Services
Scholar Abroad provides counselling, guidance, documentation support, application assistance and related services to help students pursue education opportunities abroad.
Our services may involve third-party universities, colleges, examination bodies, embassies, consulates, visa authorities, financial institutions, insurance providers, travel providers and other external organisations.
3. Counselling Services
Certain counselling sessions and initial consultations may be offered free of charge where specifically advertised as free.
Where a paid counselling session, consultation or specialised service has been booked, the applicable fee will be subject to the cancellation and refund conditions applicable to that service.
4. Cancellation Before Service Commencement
A customer may request cancellation before the applicable paid service has commenced.
Eligibility for a refund will depend on the nature of the service, whether resources have been allocated, whether documentation or applications have been processed, and whether any third-party costs have already been incurred.
Where eligible, an approved refund will be processed through the original payment method or applicable payment gateway.
5. Cancellation After Service Commencement
Once a paid service has commenced, including counselling, profile evaluation, university research, application preparation, documentation review, test preparation, visa assistance or other professional work, the applicable service fee may become non-refundable in whole or in part.
If a student cancels after work has commenced, Scholar Abroad may deduct the value of services already provided and any applicable third-party costs before determining whether a refund is available.
6. University Application Fees
Once an application fee has been paid to a university, college or third-party application platform, the refund of that amount will be governed by the respective institution's or platform's refund policy.
Scholar Abroad cannot guarantee a refund of an application fee that has already been paid to a university, college or other external provider.
7. University Tuition Fees and Deposits
Tuition fees, enrolment deposits, seat deposits and other amounts paid directly or indirectly to universities or educational institutions are subject to the refund and cancellation policies of the respective institution.
Scholar Abroad does not independently determine the refundability of university tuition fees or deposits.
Students are responsible for reviewing the relevant institution's payment, withdrawal and refund conditions before making such payments.
8. Admission Outcome Disclaimer
Admission decisions are made by the respective educational institutions based on their admission requirements, availability, academic profile, documentation and other criteria determined by the institution.
Therefore, a university or college rejecting an application does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund of professional service fees for work already performed.
9. Visa Application and Visa Assistance
Scholar Abroad may provide guidance and assistance with study visa applications and related documentation.
Visa decisions are made solely by the relevant embassy, consulate, immigration authority or government department.
Scholar Abroad does not guarantee visa approval.
Visa application fees, biometric fees, government charges, appointment fees and other amounts paid to government authorities or third-party providers are subject to their respective refund rules.
10. Visa Rejection
A visa rejection does not automatically qualify the student for a refund of Scholar Abroad's professional service fees where the agreed services have already been provided.
Any refund of government or third-party visa fees will be governed by the applicable authority's rules and procedures.
11. Test Preparation and Training Services
Fees paid for IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, GMAT, GRE, SAT or other test preparation programmes, coaching, mock tests, study materials or training services may be non-refundable once access to the course, classes, study materials, recordings, mock tests or other resources has been provided.
Where a cancellation is requested before access or training has commenced, the request may be reviewed based on the applicable course terms.
12. Missed Classes and Training Sessions
Missing a scheduled training session does not automatically qualify for a refund.
Where recorded sessions, learning materials or alternative access are available, students may be provided access in accordance with the applicable programme terms.
13. Education Loan Assistance
Scholar Abroad may assist students in understanding and applying for education loans through partner financial institutions.
Loan approval, interest rates, loan amount, collateral requirements, repayment terms and disbursement are determined by the relevant financial institution.
Any fees or charges imposed by a bank or financial institution are subject to that institution's terms and refund policies.
14. Allied Services
Scholar Abroad may assist with services such as accommodation, travel, insurance, forex and other allied services.
These services may be provided directly by third-party service providers. Once a booking, reservation, policy, transaction or service has been confirmed with a third party, its cancellation and refund conditions will apply.
15. Third-Party Payments and Charges
Some services require payments to third parties, including but not limited to:
- Universities and colleges
- Government authorities
- Embassies and consulates
- Examination bodies
- Visa application centres
- Banks and financial institutions
- Insurance providers
- Airlines and travel providers
- Accommodation providers
- Foreign exchange providers
- Other authorised service providers
Such payments are subject to the terms of the relevant third-party provider and are not automatically refundable by Scholar Abroad.
16. Eligible Refund Situations
Subject to review, a refund may be considered in circumstances such as:
- A duplicate payment was accidentally made for the same service.
- A payment was made in error and no service work or third-party expense has been incurred.

- A refund has been specifically agreed to in writing by Scholar Abroad.

All refund requests will be reviewed based on the service purchased, stage of service delivery, work completed, third-party costs incurred and the applicable terms communicated at the time of purchase.
Scholar Abroad may request additional information to verify the transaction before approving or rejecting a refund request.
21. Refund Processing
The time required for a refund to appear in a customer's bank account, card account or other payment method may vary depending on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer or financial institution.
Scholar Abroad is not responsible for delays caused by banks, payment gateways, card networks or other financial institutions after the refund has been initiated.
22. Duplicate Payments
If a student or customer believes that a payment has been made more than once for the same service, they should contact us as soon as possible with the relevant transaction details.
After verification, an eligible duplicate payment may be refunded through the applicable payment method.
23. Failed Transactions
If a payment fails but the customer's bank account, card or payment method has been debited, the transaction will be verified with the applicable payment gateway.
Where the transaction is confirmed as failed, the reversal or refund will generally be handled according to the payment gateway and banking process.
24. Payment Gateway
Payments for eligible Scholar Abroad services may be processed through authorised third-party payment gateways, including Razorpay or other payment service providers.
Payment processing, transaction authentication, payment reversals and related technical processing may be subject to the applicable payment gateway's terms and procedures.
25. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Customers are encouraged to contact Scholar Abroad first if they have a concern regarding a payment or service so that the matter can be reviewed and resolved where possible.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to customers under applicable law or through their bank, card issuer or payment service provider.
26. Cancellation by Scholar Abroad
Scholar Abroad may cancel or discontinue a service where reasonably necessary due to circumstances including non-payment, inaccurate or fraudulent information, violation of applicable laws or service terms, misuse of services, abusive conduct or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where Scholar Abroad cancels a prepaid service before providing the relevant service and the cancellation is solely attributable to Scholar Abroad, an appropriate refund may be considered after accounting for any applicable work already completed or third-party costs incurred.
27. No Guarantee of Admission or Visa
Scholar Abroad provides guidance and assistance but does not guarantee admission to a university, scholarship approval, education loan approval, visa approval, immigration approval, employment, test score or any particular outcome.
Decisions are made by the relevant university, educational institution, examination authority, financial institution, embassy, consulate, immigration authority or other third party.
