Intakes & Deadlines:

Germany generally offers two intakes for international students: Winter and Summer.

Entry Requirements for Master's Programs in Germany:

Academic Percentage: Most universities require a minimum academic percentage of above 60% in your Bachelor’s degree.

Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. The accepted language tests are IELTS and TOEFL. The minimum requirement is an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6 or a minimum TOEFL score of 87.

German Language: While German language proficiency may not be mandatory for admission, having a basic level of German language (A1 or A2) can enhance your chances of acceptance. Universities increasingly expect applicants to have at least A1 level proficiency. Proficiency can be demonstrated through tests like DSH, TestDaF, or ZOP of Goethe Institute.

GRE Score: For higher-ranked universities, especially in the fields of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering, a good GRE score is often required. A score of 310 or above is considered competitive.

Document Readiness: Most universities require applicants to submit all necessary documents, including IELTS scorecard and Provisional Degree Certificate, at the time of application. Conditional Offer Letters are not typically issued.

To pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Germany, you need to fulfill the following entry requirements:

Education Duration: 12 years of education are generally required for entry into a Bachelor’s program. Some universities may accept 13 years of education, which can be achieved by completing the first year of a Bachelor’s program in a recognized university in India or successfully completing a Foundation year in Germany.

Academic Percentage: A minimum of 60% and above in 12th grade is usually required.

Language Proficiency: Similar to Master’s programs, a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6 is necessary for English proficiency. Additionally, a B1 level of German language proficiency is required.

Duration & Tuition Fees:

The duration of Master’s programs in Germany typically ranges from 1 to 2 years, while Bachelor’s programs usually span 3 years. Tuition fees can vary, especially for private universities, with an average range of €8,000 to €12,000 per year.
